For those wondering whether Life Leadership is legit or just another pyramid scheme-ish scam, this review should answer all your questions.
An Overview of Life Leadership
Did someone approach you about this business opportunity, telling you how Life Leadership could change your life?
Well, someone did approach me and I decided to do some snooping around on this company.
I get skeptical about any MLM opportunity presented to me and trust me when I say you dodged a bullet on this one.
I understand that some people might not want to sit through this long detailed review due to time or patience constraints. If you are one of such people, please stick around for a minute and read through a point-form summary of some important things to know about this company:
- Life Leadership is a real company that sells informational and educational products
- The company offers three categories of products, some of which have both one-time fees and monthly costs
- To promote a product, you must first be an active subscriber of the product
- Subscribing to all the products adds up to about $300 in recurring monthly costs
- There is an optional $99.99 business starter kit which contains introductory materials to start the business
- The company operates a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) business model
- Contrary to what the company or rep might have told you, this is not a part-time or work-from-home opportunity.
First of all, it’s expensive to become a Life Leadership representative. Secondly, I don’t think the products are even worth paying for and if that’s how I feel, you shouldn’t be surprised that I think you’d struggle as a representative.
I got a lot of heat from Life Leadership reps, so I decided to invest some money on some of their products. I thought they were crap. There are a lot of free developmental resources online created by some really prominent figures, so I’m struggling to understand why someone would pay for these products.
Anyway, there’s an audience for every product but Life Leadership doesn’t even provide proper training on how you can get leads to sell to. If you’re interested in getting leads while promoting anything you want, including life Leadership products, you can follow the exact system I follow.
What is Life Leadership?
Life Leadership is an MLM-based company that sells informational and educational products. The company was founded in 2011 by 7 entrepreneurs, including Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady.
The Products
There are three categories of products you could promote with Life Leadership:
- Personal Development
- Professional Development
- Financial Development
Personal Development
Under this category, they have:
- Life Leadership: Costs $22 per month and includes 1 Success magazine and 2 audios monthly. It was designed to “foster personal growth and development across all areas of life”.
- The Edge Series: This costs $11 per month and it includes one monthly audio. According to them, it “is designed to impart the principles of success to preteen and early teens and give them the information we all wish we had learned earlier!”.
- Rascal Radio: This costs a recurring monthly fee of $22 and they claim it “is the world’s first online/mobile customizable personal development radio station”. This includes talks from motivational speakers and life coaches.
- The Freedom Series: This costs $11 and it includes one monthly audio that apparently teaches you “the principles of freedom and what you can do to preserve it in your society”.
- All Grace Outreach: This costs $30 per month and it includes 1 book and one audio monthly. This is supposed to “foster spiritual growth and development and strengthen people in their Christian walk”.
Professional Development
The cheapest one is the 6-month LLR Corporate Education subscription which includes 1 book and 4 audios monthly. It costs $64.95.
The website shows that they have 4 other subscriptions, some of which span 12 or 18 months, but I could not view the price because I do not have a sponsor.
Financial Development
In this category, they have:
- The Financial Fitness Program: This costs $120 for just the digital version and $180 for the digital + physical version. 8 audios, 1 e-workbook and 1 e-book that are supposed to teach you “the principles of making money, budgeting & discipline and the rules & philosophy of money”.
- The Financial Fitness Master Class: Same price as the Financial Fitness Program. This features 6 online videos and 14 audios designed for people “who want a deeper understanding of the principles of finances”.
- Beyond Financial Fitness: Same price as the previous two programs. This features 2 online videos, 1 audiobook, 4 digital audios and 1 ebook. The physical version comes with some CDs, DVDs and 1 book. It’s supposed to teach “how to maximize the potential of your various streams of income by properly accumulating an ever-growing portfolio of cash-flow producing assets”.
- Financial Fitness Services: This costs $60 per month. This is supposed to protect “your privacy, safety, and financial security” from internet scam artists.
- Wealth Habits Series: This costs $33 in the first month and $12 in subsequent months for the digital version. The physical version goes for $54.50 in the first month and $18 in subsequent months. This was designed to “help you develop the long-term habits of the wealthy in small, ongoing training sessions”.
In order to maximize your earning potential, you are going to have to purchase all the products. You will not earn commissions on products you have not bought.
In order to own all the products, we are talking at least $200 in recurring monthly fees already. Let’s not even get started with the one-time fees.
Good luck selling such crappy products to anyone!
There is a reason the guy that approached me about this opportunity didn’t bother to mention the products at all. The products are cheap and useless, and the only reason anyone would spend money on them is because they want to have the chance to sell them.
The Business Opportunity
I am a huge advocate of self-development. I believe everyone should always find ways to continue to improve their lives somehow.
Most rational people, myself included, do this by investing in trusted books, watching videos, taking courses and networking with accomplished people.
Watching videos and speaking to people can be done for free. Books and courses might not necessarily be expensive. These factors mean you will not have much luck promoting Life Leadership’s redundant, yet expensive, products.
The real juice in Life Leadership, or most MLMs for that matter, lies in recruiting people into the system. This is where the real business opportunity is.
I’m sure you are not reading this review to find out if the DVDs are alright. You are reading to know if you can make money with this opportunity. And you are looking into the opportunity because the person that is trying to recruit you pitched in the idea of making money, rather than talking about the products.
While motivational materials might be a hard sell, the idea of making money sounds much more appealing to people. This is why the successful guys in MLM are always big on recruiting.
The cycle is the same as other MLMs. You start by recruiting the people closest to you because you are not taught how to get leads and these people are the easiest to reach. You keep your fingers crossed and hope these people go on and recruit other people. Those other people go on to recruit other people and so on.
This continuous cycle is how you steadily build your downline and the more people you have in your downline, the more money you make.
That was super easy to describe using a keyboard. In reality, it is hard as hell to achieve!
Friends and family are called your “warm market” and while it might seem convenient to start with them, it is never the best method of building any form of long-term success.
The key to having any kind of successful business is having a constant flow of leads and let’s be honest, you can only have so many friends or family members to sell this opportunity to. When you run out of people to recruit, you are now left in a limbo.
The “warm market” approach comes with personal implications as well. When reality sets in and you/them realize that the business is nowhere near as rosy, the trust is broken because you lured them in based on false dreams.
There are other ways to get leads without having to exploit the people close to you but unfortunately, you don’t get that kind of training at Life Leadership. My problem with this company, and most MLMs, is the fact that the extent of your training is limited to what your sponsor can offer you. If you have a clueless sponsor, you’re screwed!
If you would love to build your own successful online business or learn how to get leads to an existing business, check out this article.
Compensation Plan
I absolutely hate writing about the compensation plan of MLM companies for the same reason. They all have a similar format of highlighting how much you could earn in a perfect scenario, without mentioning how difficult and highly unlikely it is to even break even.
I will let the video below show you what the compensation plan of Life Leadership looks like.
I do NOT endorse this video. I do NOT endorse Life Leadership. I am sharing this video solely for educational purposes. The video might be outdated at the time you are reading this review
- Your earnings and rewards are dependent on the sales volume of your downline
- The attitude and participation of members in your downline is what determines your success or failure in this business. This is why I do not recommend MLMs in general
- Recruiting is necessary but not sufficient to make a killing in this business. To remain successful, you have to follow up on your downline and make sure they remain active members
- While you might know your own direct recruits, you might not know their own direct recruits personally. Therefore, your fate largely depends on people you might not know personally
Income Disclosure
Let’s take a look at the company’s official income disclosure statement for the period September 2014 through August 2015…
Here are a few things to note:
- The average monthly income of all members was $81.26
- 55.52% did not continue with the company after their first year
- 44.37% did not earn any income at all
- Based on the average figures in the above table, 94.1% of all members earn less than $265 per month
- It also takes an average of 31 months (2.5 years) to earn $265 per month
- These figures do not reflect expenses incurred like the recurring monthly costs and one-time product fees
Who is this opportunity for?
If you truly believe there is value in the products and you know where to find people you can promote the products or opportunity to, then you have a slim chance of being successful.
If you prefer to make money from home without being required to go out to sell anything or recruit anybody, build your own online business where you make the rules and call all the shots.
What I liked
- Representatives do not have to meet the $100 minimum sales requirement within the first 2 full months of joining
What I didn’t like
- The products are just not marketable
- The products are too expensive
- They do not offer in-depth training on how to get consistent leads
- Pathetic average earnings
- Numerous complaints about the company online
- It could be argued that the business opportunity is a pyramid scheme
Is Life Leadership a Pyramid Scheme?
From a legal point of view, at least for now, they are not a pyramid scheme because products are sold. However, I would still be very skeptical before I join this company.
In my opinion, the products are not marketable and best bet of succeeding with this company will be by recruiting. In the process of this recruiting, products are being bought and this is what keeps this company on the good side of the law.
The real question now is: how much of the product sales are attributed to rep purchases? Unless someone is willing to provide some facts to me, I believe most of their sales come from representatives purchasing products to be part of the opportunity rather than regular customers.
If that is the case, it makes the company a product-based pyramid scheme.
Closing Thoughts
Even though self-development is nice, the products offered by this company will be a hard sell for you because the products are just not that appealing at those prices.
If you choose to go the recruiting route, there is still a high chance of failure for reasons that might not necessarily be down to you. The work ethic of the people in your downline, whether you know them or not, is what will make or break you in this business.
If you are not comfortable with the idea of walking up to random people in order to persuade them to buy a product or join an opportunity, you probably should not be considering network marketing. That’s all the business is all about.

First of all your incorrect grammar and English needs correcting. Second, if you want to really evaluate, instead of giving your “skewed” version to justify people going to your internet money making what ever it is, take the 30 day challenge. 100% money back guarantee. Read, listen, do your “REAL” due diligence and don’t just read information off of a website that you are incorrectly stating. Third, most of the information is inaccurate and you need to check it!

Most times I don’t proof-read my articles because I’m a busy guy. But despite my “incorrect grammar and English”, I know it’s “let’s” and I know there should be no comma after HONEST.
Duane Scarborough says
Hey man, look. I need to apologize. I should not have attacked you like that. No excuses, but I was highly irritated. I have a passion to help people and just felt that this was an unfair evaluation. I am really not that kind of person and my anger got the best of me. For that I ask you to forgive me! I would like to have a “gentlemen’s chat to straighten this out. Let’s set up a zoom meeting, just you and me. And if you find it in your heart to not post that comment I would appreciate it! You look like a great guy and , I’m not looking to hurt anyone or put anyone down. Thank you and I look forward to speaking with you. You have my email.
Amedu says
Look, it’s all good. I love helping people too and we need to realize that people are allowed to have differing opinions about a topic. It’s important for us to be able to express our differing opinions in a respectful manner.
The whole point of writing this Life Leadership review was not to bring the company down without reason. The idea was to provide my own opinion on the business opportunity for those looking for it. I tried to do proper research, I used the information on the company’s website and I even had a chat with a then Life Leadership representative.
If you feel this is an unfair evaluation of the company, that’s completely understandable. The world would be extremely boring if everyone agreed on everything. Say what you don’t agree with, add any missing information and contribute in a meaningful way to those looking for info on this company. There’s nothing stopping me from changing things within this review when I’m convinced there is something worth changing.
As for setting up a zoom meeting, I’m not interested in that because you’re not the owner of the company. However, I would appreciate if you debated the details of this Life Leadership review here in the comments or via email. I’ve been in contact with one Life Leadership rep and would love to get the perspective of another.
Again, it’s all good. Cheers

Lol, spoken like a true MLM distributor. Expressing your butt-hurt feelings instead of contributing any substance to the review by correcting what you might think are wrong details.
Like I mentioned in this review, I was approached by a Life Leadership distributor. I bought one of the products and I can say with 100% confidence that they are crap. I’ve seen that distributor a few times since writing this review and unsurprisingly, he’s not with Life Leadership anymore. Obviously, he didn’t get the dream life that was sold to him.
Throw tantrums all you want but the truth is I can’t recommend the Life Leadership business opportunity.
Matthew Cunningham says
Amedu thanks for your review. I was already thinking the same thing. I just trusted the person who brought it to me. I never thought a friend would try to get me trapped in a pyramid scheme. Thanks again your a hero in my book!

Are you part of Life? Please give us your thoughts on this company.
Chris says
I’m not big into working Life Leadership as a business, but, you can’t argue that it is a pyramid scheme. A pyramid scheme is where, if you get enough people working the business underneath you, then you won’t ever have to work again. The way things are structured here, that won’t happen. You will always have to keep working to sell the product and finding others that are interested in selling the product. IF you find enough people that are just interested in the product, and they buy recurring subscriptions, then yeah, you can just make money off the income of those recurring subscriptions. There is a point in the MLM structure where you don’t get anything for those people that were recruited by people you recruited, I’m glossing over the details here, but, the compensation plan is based more on YOU selling the product and YOU recruiting people than it is on people under you selling the product or recruiting. If you stop working, eventually you will make nothing.
I do agree that they don’t offer enough information on how to get consistent leads. It is debatable as to whether the products are unsellable or are over priced. The high probability of failure is, like anything else, based on your persistence and that is what they teach.
The bottom line is that your review isn’t horrendously bad, but, it isn’t perfect either. Yes, Life Leadership uses MLM to market their products, but, it is also a valid marketing strategy where they attempt to make sure that money they would otherwise spend mass marketing their products is paid to the people that work hard to market their products by word of mouth and work hard to find other people that want to market their products.
Amedu says
Hey Chris,
First of all, thanks for actually reading the review and leaving your thoughts.
You raised a lot of valid points but there are still areas I do not completely agree with. For starters, your definition of a pyramid scheme is one of the many definitions of a pyramid scheme. If the structure of a business opportunity isn’t designed to push more product sales than recruiting, it is a pyramid scheme.
Here’s what the FTC has to say about potential pyramid schemes: https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/multilevel-marketing
I think any product could be sold, including the ones that appear unmarketable. The issue is how often reps would be able to make sales. There are recurring fees and requirements to remain an active rep, a lot of their products have recurring monthly costs which drastically reduce the number of sales one could make and the combination of these two is what forces reps to recruit more reps instead of trying to make sales.
I mentioned in this review that I found out about Life Leadership after running into a rep. He wasn’t trying to sell me their products. Instead, he tried to talk me into the opportunity straight away. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t know at the time that I was quite familiar with opportunities like this and actually wrote reviews on them.
To your last point, I have no problem with companies promoting their products using the MLM business model. It is way cheaper than regular advertising and it even gives you the potential to reach more people. However, they don’t offer proper training on how to be successful as a rep, the products are not top quality in this case and lastly, the company does nothing to push product sales over recruiting.
People might not realize that I have given some MLM companies a review rating of over 80. What these companies have in common is they have quality products, they do not bombard the reps with monthly recurring fees or tough sales requirements and they actually put in some effort to check recruiting over product sales. If an MLM company is tough on product sales over recruiting, they tend to score high in my reviews.

The “Financial Fitness Program” is LiFe’s flagship product. It’s often referred to as “The Green Box”.
(I mentioned the FFP in my other comments in the main thread of this post)
It iS The Best Financial program out there, and we’ve seen quite a few.
The authors of this Financial Fitness program/aka “The Green Box” are the main founders of LiFe Leadership; Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady. They are two of the Top 50 Leadership Experts in The World (according to Inc. Magazine) Orrin ranked 19th, and Chris ranked 39th. They
both have achieved quite a few accolades. Orrin was a fuel systems process engineer for GM, and had 4 patents in use by the time he was only 25 years old! His work Saved GM hundreds of thousands of dollars (I believe the figure was a lot more than that, I just don’t want to quote it wrong) because GM saved $100 per truck and years later they’re Still using his invention and saving money with it.
Orrin is obviously a genius.
Chris Brady also has stood out above the crowd for years in whatever he has chosen to do. If you knew them, you’d agree that they both are Truly Incredible Leaders! They are also both NY Times Best selling authors.
We Often get to Learn and be coached by them and Top Leaders Personally! The financial principles that They learned that got them out of debt slavery and gave them success. When was the last time that Anyone here had an opportunity to Personally learn Success strategies and information from some of the most successful people on the planet? ALL of the leaders WANT people to succeed too; that’s the Beauty of this. They’re coaching to Help as many people as possible get Out of #TheFinancialMatrix!
LiFe Leadership is all about learning and growing ourselves in ALL areas of our lives. Getting proven Success information in All of these areas, into the hands of the Masses So Everyone and Anyone can succeed in their own life, is their goal. And their passion for this really shines through!
This information made us Think more- and Want to Do More. It made us More Aware.
It even made us realize the purpose that God has for Our lives.
The information we have learned already is Invaluable…
But The Community of True Friends we have gained Because of LiFe, is even More Important and Dear to our hearts. They have become more than great friends…
They Are Family!
Why is Weight Watcher’s successful? They have thousands of meetings daily around the world. Do you know what they ‘sell’?
It’s Community!
They are a Community of people that are All trying to achieve a common goal Together. That’s Why they’re successful.
Community Makes ALL the difference in the world… And LiFe has The BEST Community available anywhere!
If anyone chooses to join ANY business… We Highly Recommend that they Throughly check out the Community FIRST.
***Is it “Team Approach”? Because if it’s NOT- the odd’s are not very good for your success.
***And if it IS Team Approach- Be Choosy about Who You Will be Working With.
Are They REALLY Plugged Into “The System” and All About helping The Team? Are their Leaders and Upline Available and Working Directly With them? Because Those are Who You’ll Want to Work With! (We’ve previously been in a “Team” that turned out not to be a helpful team at all. They all have since left LiFe and started another Company)
This is the Great thing about having Integrity and Character be paramount in a business. It will eventually weed out those without it.
We are So Blessed to be able to work directly with our LiFe Coaches Bill & Keisha Lewis and many other Amazing Leaders. They are Truly Incredibly Giving and Caring souls. We Thank God everyday for being a part of this Incredible group of people we now call our Family.

My friend, you have no idea what you’re talking about. Even a dumb person can tell you’re ignorant. Life isn’t a get rich scheme. It’s about your performance. It doesn’t matter if you’re the ceo, the middle, or just starting out, if you put the effort in it, you make the money. Same with any job, if you put effort, you succeed.
It sounds like you failed with them and at life are now posting false information which can be easily falsified with a simple google check.
A basic fact is that Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady are honest people who are helping others. You’re a bot who has bad performance with no experience in marketing bad mouthing others.

I published an article, did absolutely nothing to promote it, you found it and have taken the time to leave several comments on the article. Yet, somehow I’m the one who’s clueless about marketing and have failed in life. I’m not approving any more comments from you – I don’t have all day to read and approve them.

Its funny how people that know the least know it the loudest.this article is based on your opinion and very little fact. You cannot do a quality review of anything from the outside. That is why Life Leadership offers a 100% money back guarantee for 30 days on products offered including the initial investment. If you haven’t the courage to check it out legit than you should keep your partially informed comments to yourself till you get the facts jack.
Amedu says
You’re right, this Life Leadership review is primarily my opinion. Overall, MLM is an industry with very little facts. These little facts were mentioned in this Life Leadership review; list of products & their prices and the income disclosure statement.
I did acknowledge these facts and used them to draw up to my conclusion. My conclusion that Life Leadership might be a pyramid scheme is closely related to the facts I provided in this review. It would have been nice for you to add some facts or correct any wrong facts in this review.
Thanks for reading and leaving a comment anyway.

I’ve been approached by a co worker with this stuff. I’ve given the info to my fraud investigators at the AGs office to find out if this is worth what is being pushed. I can assure you that if it’s any hint of skeptical. I will be speaking with our Human Resources regarding lack of cander.

I find it odd (and sad) how personally some (or most, actually) have taken this review. I was approached by someone whom I knew and respected regarding this, and that person has forfeited the latter. “Snake-oil” is what I consider it. Since so few “succeed,” I have to wonder if the previous comments aren’t “planted” by them somehow. I mean, really, emotional involvement over a critical review regarding some really low-quality and dumb CD’s?
Thanks for the informative posting.
Amedu says
Unfortunately, the MLM industry is filled with a lot of emotional people. I’ve spoken to a few subjective people, but most are stuck in their beliefs and not willing to hear anything else.
Anyway, thanks Clate for stopping by.
Peter says
HI there. My name is Peter and I have been a LIFE Leadership member for a few years. Being an insider in this community, I hope my comments shed a little light on some of the assumptions that are being made by previous “commentators”, if that is the correct word to use. First of all, I want to hopefully put to rest or at least Challenge the assumption on the issue of we rely on recruiting to grow our businesses. Like any other business, we grow by increasing the number of households that are using our products. Now whether or not the purchasers of our products are customers who want the products for their own consumption, or those who purchase the products because they want to build a business marketing the products to others and share in the profits, we grow by increasing the volume of products we move. Just like Wal-Mart or Home Depot, or American Express, we grow by increasing our customer base. We use word- of-mouth simply because it works more efficiently and frees up more profits for the field. My opinion is that the products are excellent and have helped me immensely, and compared to other Leadership Development materials, are much lower priced and higher quality. I’m not going to argue with you regarding opinions, but say only that they are based on experience and perceptions. Now with regard to whether or not Life Leadership is a Pyramid, we must first agree on what a pyramid means, as there are many interpretations and opinions on what that entails. If one states that a pyramid scheme relies more on recruiting than sales of products, let me empirically state that I receive nothing if I add someone to my team and they don’t use the products to grow themselves or their business. Now, the business opportunity is just one small facet of what we are about. We are looking to help people grow into their full potential, to fulfill their purpose. The problem is many people are not living their potential simply because they don’t have the right information or financial stress has got them stuck trading their time for money. The problem with the perceptions of this profession is that it does take time and investment to build this. It is not an hourly JOB, or a situation where there are “leads” that you work like an insurance agent or salesman. You do have to get out there and expand a natural market, which requires you to grow personally and acquire skills with people. This is not something that everyone can or is willing to do because for many it takes people out of their comfort zone. It takes time, a commitment to grow yourself, and persistence. It’s not for everyone. You can’t do this for three months and expect to earn a six figure income in that time frame. If you can stick to it, and learn how to do this right, the rewards are immense, not only in the income potential, but also in the personal growth, the relationships you will forge with others in your community, and the opportunity to serve others in a meaningful way.
Amedu says
Thanks Peter for providing such a detailed comment. I just want to address a couple of things here:
The key phrase there for me is “customer base”. A customer is someone that purchases the products without necessarily hoping for any direct financial gain. So the question is are you increasing your customer base or growing the number of reps that purchase the products? I suspect the latter.
When you say “add someone to my team”, what exactly do you mean? If they join your team, it’s because they want to participate in the compensation plan and if they want to be part of the comp plan, they need to purchase products. When they purchase products, you earn commissions. If any part of this is wrong, please enlighten me. Your statement on the face of it is correct but unless I’ve grossly misunderstood the comp structure, there isn’t a case where someone would join your team and not subscribe to products.
I agree with most of the other things. It takes time and hard work and if everything comes together, the reps would probably be better off.But it comes together for only a few, but it falls off for most people. The income disclosure statement shows this. The reason most reps fail is not necessarily because they are expecting quick riches or they don’t work hard, but because the structure is set up for extortion and they are not equipped with the right resources to help them succeed. They are also not not given a clear picture of what they’re getting into before they get into it.
Again Peter, I appreciate your opinion and the discussion you got going on here. Cheers
Osama Akhtar says
As Peter mentioned, it’s not extortion. It’s a business which helps people gain their full potential. No Life member makes commission off of people joining.
The compensation plan is available on the website. Extortion is where you tell someone give me $x and you’ll get rich. Every new member earns more money than people do in companies.
To break it down: every customer that joins, you get 25% and every member 50%. In addition, you’re getting added 4 members per month and earning $100 as a member which gets you profit.
Everyone shops at Walmart. Best buy. You are the product if you shop at Amazon or Walmart or Best buy or facebook. Are they scams? No. Because the future is using the customer as the product.
Every customer and member is successful. No one is promised to be a millionaire but certainly, in any job even an actor, can go broke or become a millionaire with hard work. The goal is to provide people with success, whether it’s saving $30 as a customer at walmart and waffle house or it’s getting a side income to avoid a bad job loss.
Osama Akhtar says
And btw, so many ppl in corporate America are joining this business as it’s the future way of doing business. It’s honest, it’s hard work, but it’s fruitful.
Elliot says
I knew several Life scammers personally. They were all trash. Who could be so low as to take money from anyone and tell them they’re getting rich? You Life scam men and women should change your motto to “9 F’s” . Fraud is a given.
Amedu says
Lol, looks like you didn’t fall for their antics. Good on you!

Clickbait. This isn’t vegas. No one will tell you you’re getting rich. You put the effort. You make the income.

Wonderful responses here. I see the thread is quite old. I am so frustrated that my church is becoming infiltrated by people in this movement. I have been approached as well as other church members. Individuals in the movement are moving into leadership at the church. I am just not that influential and at this point I just plan on leaving. I do not want drama and conflict and I am not staying to be influenced by the whole Life leadership thing. I am sad and believe this is beyond me. I am trying to be non emotional, but am passionately against MLM and especially in the church. Any input welcomed. I love how you intelligently engage in the comments sent to you. I wish more people were as balanced and articulate as you!

Hey Sally, sorry for the late response and thanks for the kind words.
I once had a Primerica rep come to my church to do a presentation. Funny thing is I had already published my review of them at the time. I just told my friends and anyone else that cared to listen that the company was up to no good and if they didn’t believe me they should read reviews.

I was approached by someone who did not tell me that they were a representative trying to get me to join, even while I’m a full-time college student who is definitely not looking to spend extra money or to join a MLM program. This was very helpful, and very illuminating. Here’s to hoping I didn’t burn any bridges beyond repair! Thanks for being so detailed, and for your very articulate and respectful responses to all comments.

The pleasure is all mine, Christine. I’m glad you found it helpful.

I too was approached at church, which I as well do not like. The manner in which it was presented, when I inquired exactly what he was talking about, was all too familiar to me when I got caught up in a pyramid scheme in the 70’s. I recognized it right away. I was gracious though and told him I would look into it and I found myself here. I appreciate your comments and besides I am 70, I have lived a lifetime and I am out of debt, house and farm paid off, and building a 24 bed facility to house homeless young women with my own money as a leading of the Lord. He enriches, increases, and straightens out my life…don’t need anyone or any books to do that for me,Just The Good Book! I go directly to the source for the best advice! Thanks for your posting. Hope my commas are in all the right places!

Lmfao when you guys learn the right side of the cashflow quadrant and understand money and where its following and how money works, then you will understand the government programs you sheep to believe MLM’s are bad buy using TV and the media and advertising, because the longer the government keeps you away from MLM’s making you believe there bad, the longer they keep you trapped in the rat race of life and taxes and going nowhere, you’re guys biggest saying is, “the guy at the top takes all the money” if you had a brain you would look at your regular 9-5 job and realize, hey the CEO/owner aka the guy at the top makes all the money, but atleast in an MLM, the system is built for people to share in all the profits instead of just going to 1 owner, come on people use your brains, when it common sense go out the window, the reason you people are scared of them, because you don’t know what hard work is and what it means to preform. So it’s easier for you to stay in your regular job and do the bare minimum so you don’t get fired and you can still collect your paycheck!

I am glad you wrote an article about this. I have had a personal experience with someone who tried to get me into the “business” as they would call it. I got an excited call, they asked if they could pitch me a business opportunity, i obliged. 5 min in I knew it was a “pyramid scheme” this was taken directly off google. The definition of a pyramid scheme:
“a form of investment (illegal in the US and elsewhere) in which each paying participant recruits two further participants, with returns being given to early participants using money contributed by later ones.”
This is literally their sales pitch. You have to build teams, and yes you do make profits off of them, you then get your team to build a team and they make profits. I tried to be nice and let them know I was not interested, yet he persisted to get me to join. For months I wouldn’t hear the end of it, I had to call his wife (a friend of mine) and ask her to tell him I didn’t want any part of it. I felt so upset. He even dragged me and my husband to a Life Leadership meeting, where guess what, I couldn’t have my 3 week old son. They made me leave the event because I had a new born baby. NO KIDS were allowed. My son was 3 weeks old and I breastfed him. This is the craziest thing ever. My husband bought into it, for about 6 months. We paid $120 start up fee and ended up paying a monthly subscription totaling almost $150 monthly. My husband couldn’t get anyone he knew to join, everyone was telling him it was a bad idea and not a real business model. it took him 6 months and about $1,000 to realize it was not worth it. This is the low end of the spectrum, the guy who was getting us to sign up spent about 14,000 for a year and he didn’t even make that back. I have not talked to them in awhile and I am unsure if he is still in it. But $14,000 in one year? That is almost half of my income. Where does that all go? Into Orrin and Chris’s pockets.
I am unsure of how true it is, and it wouldn’t be hard to figure out if you knew their names, but Life Leadership has Coaches who teach at these conferences I was speaking of. I do not remember their names, but almost ever one of them filed bankruptcy and wrote off all their “vacations” as work expenses.
My personal opinion, DO NOT GET INVOLVED!!!!!!!!!

I just got called by a friend yesterday about this, and they put on their mentor for a 3-way call. It sounded “pyramidy” right from the get-go. I allllllllllmost got involved with Primerica years ago, but stepped away before dropping any money. The guy on the phone wouldn’t answer any direct questions until he met me via video conference or face-to-face. I did the researching today. All the good reviews/articles are from people that work for the company, and all of the bad reviews are from those who are jaded former associates or those who never benefited from the products they bought. Thanks for confirming my suspicions!

THIS PROGRAM IS A CROCK OF SHIT! LETS NOT CANDY COAT IT
People are hungry for a better life.
These people look for straying antelope. The more beaten down, desperate, lost, vulnerable, delusional, emotionally or mentally disturbed you are…the riper you are for picking.
They target ” Churches” intentionally because it is the place where they know they can find ” Broken people” who think they need to be “saved”
When I made it clear that I didn’t know where my next sandwich was coming from.. they manipulated me into paying 160.00 that Was the last of my money and did not mention that they would attempt to withdraw 60.00 per month automatically from my account….Wich overdrew my account. When I explained my dire situation at that time….they said it was “Impossible to refund the 160.00, as they had never done that before”…..sickening….
I finally got them to stop attempting to extract 60.00 every month.

Darn it! Can you think of anything more frustrating than getting honey stuck in your hair? We can’t either! Therefore, we’re happy to tell you that this message will be WAY less frustrating-no mini heart attack required! Just relax and breathe.
A teensy-weensy, extremely minor hiccup has occurred. It’s no big deal really. These things happen. But apparently your credit card needs a little TLC from you and refuses to renew your LIFE Membership until it gets some. Can you please see what you can do?
We know these matters can be delicate, so we’ll give you a little time and try again in a few days – 3 to be exact. In case that isn’t enough time to smooth things over, we’ll give it another whirl 3 days later. And if it STILL won’t cooperate, we’ll try again 3 more days after that.
Thank you so much! You’re the best
Of course they will act as if it’s just a glitch….and I’m unreasonable.
How about the language in the email to inform me that my credit card needs some tlc so they can attach thier suckers properly.
NO MORE MR NICE GUY.

Do the people involved in this company have some sort of write off for helping people under them that they “help out with life; drug abuse, financial etc…) Just curious, I stay at a place where the owners are up a ways on the ladder of this business, Seems to me that this whole low income place might be a write-off for them. And the place is not what you’d call doing well, financially or physically.

Hello Guys, Please don’t mind my grammar i usually don’t write reviews unless my 2 cents can help someone make a well informed decision on the subject matter. So here we go, I have been approached on this opportunity last week from the date of this posting from a co-worker, I’m posting this message 3 hours after going to one of those life-leadership household meetings and i even bought a ticket for one of their big seminars to come see the owners this saturday so this review is coming from someone who is on the other side and i would like to share my thoughts. I have been to a lot of MLM Recruiting seminars over my lifetime, for example. Amway, prime america, National lending corp (NOW DEFUNCT), Herbalife etc. i have been to recruiting events from MLM Businesses selling household items, coffee, life insurance, mortgages, real estate, nutritional supplements, and even beauty care and honestly AMEDU is right. All these companies have the same pay structure and set up the same way. The highest in the chain only got to that spot because .. they ”recruited or they were the ”owners” meaning they were already on the top of the chain and now they are using the MLM Strategy to Exponentially Increase their profits and ”Reach”. This is the only way that you will get by with these companies. This is ”THE (”recruiting”) BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY” that your best buddy, friend, or family member meant to talk to you about. . Now my review is not meant to be negative or positive. Im preety neutral to the MLM business because there are some products that did peak my interest but i never been really involved on the recruiting aspect of the business. I/m more of the type to be a customer then a distributor. For example i went to herbalife and i still use some of their products but was not really interested in the business side of it. As far as Life leadership i liked the product because it peaked my interest. I would love to find ways to save money and budget my money. I know there are thousands of books and audio that i can purchase for much cheaper but i do like to see the different ways that this simple subject is thought by other sources so i ended up purchasing the $120 financial and personal development subscription service. I’m now in the hordes nest and i can tell you that if you are someone who is looking to find ways to be financially sound and learn financial literacy because you are heavily in debt then go with ”david ramsey”and purchase one of his books and courses. ALOT OF THE CONCEPTS THAT LIFE LEADERSHIP TEACHES HAS BEEN COPIED FROM DAVID RAMSEY’S COURSES”. There is no subscription to buy and for what you pay for $120 a month you can get yourself a crap load of books an audio on the subject on amazon by reputable financial experts so please there is no reason to go more into debt. The best part is that you can listen to david ramsey on the radio and on youtube for free!!. If you are already struggling their are better cheaper ways to learn this subject.”AS LONG AS YOU APPLY WHAT YOU LEARN YOU WILL BE FINE”.. Now if you are someone who is looking to build yourself personally and financially and love to scout for a business opportunity then this may be for you. Life leadership will not only teach you how to be in business for yourself and budget your money but will also have personal development courses so you can also improve yourself as a person in business. This business is not for the faint of heart. Like Amedu says there is very few people who dont make it in this type of business. I have found that alot of the sales pitch on these meetings focuses alot on tax write offs. You join the business and now you are consider an independent contractor. So what they are stating on these meetings that the 120-300 a month your paying is a tax write off, the cell phone bill you use for life leadership is a tax write off, the up to 300 sqft in your house you magically can make as your life leadership business is a write off, the mortgage, the light bill. the water bill, your cats pet food, all your life leadership related expenses is a write off. This is what gets people to sign up because it makes people go to their Human resources and put ”8” allowances on their W4 because they are hoping to use this as a way to write off their ”LOSSESS” till they owe ”0” in taxes and use the extra money on their paychecks to pay for more subscriptions. Obviously the way this comes across from my point of view. ”DONT WORRY GUYs THE 300 A MONTH SUBSCRIPTION IS A WRITE OFF AND SINCE YOU MAY NOT MAKE MONEY ON THIS JOB OPPORTUNITY AND POSSIBLY LOSE WELL OVER 10K FOR YEARS TO COME YOU CAN PASS THESE LOSSES TO YOUR W4 SO YOU OWE LESS IN TAXES!!.” You get what i’m tryna say here right?. So these are my thoughts like i said this is my personal opinion. You can make money but you have to be very hungry..and you have to recruit people who are having such a shitty financial life that they want something that will give them ”hope”. When someone sells ”hope” to a ”hopeless” person than that is an easy sell as long as that person has a little bit of ”faith” then you have a winner. As for me im still gone keep getting my hands dirty on this for maybe 2 to 3 more months and see what i can learn from this information-do i see myself actually active in this business–probably not. I’m choosing a different path to achieve financial freedom and along the way any tools and resources i can get my hand on will be used and applied even if its cheap or expensive hopefully the applied knowledge will pay for itself along the road. Good Luck to you guys and stay strong!!.

As soon as recruiting is necessary in order to keep things working, its a pyramid sceme.
Jamin says
The guy that started this whole conversation did it trying to “recruit’ people to an online business… pyramid?
Amedu says
“Join this online business and you will make money” and “here’s a platform that teaches you how to build an online business” are two different things. I recommend a training platform that teaches people how to build an online business — even if what they want to promote is Life Leadership. Nice try though!
Osama Akhtar says
There’s no such thing as a one person business.
You don’t need to recruit to make money, but you need to out in your effort. There’s no job in life which will make you a millionaire in the first month. Unless you hit the jackpot in Vegas.
You recruit to grow your business. That’s what a business is.
You can be a customer and save money monthly if you don’t wish to have a business.

Amedu:
I’ve read all of the comments here and am in awe of the lack of knowledge and understandings of this company called LiFe.
Would you all agree that a person’s Character and heart is probably the MOST Important thing to consider, whether choosing a friend, a spouse, your Church, a Company to work for, a business you frequent, Or a Company to represent?
If you ONLY Knew 25% of what we Know about the True Character, hearts, and The driving Purpose of the Owners and the other Leaders of this business- Seriously, You ALL would be Completely Amazed and Definately Impressed!
The only problem with succeeding in a Good mlm business model is that you Really Have to WANT to succeed; you HAVE to be Teachable, Hard working, Committed and Persistent (ie, in Not giving up or quitting. I Don’t mean persistent toward people to join). But THIS Co Is Different; You HAVE to Have Integrity and Good Character as well.
Both my husband Bob and I over the years have been employees and self employed, and in several mlm’s (He was successful in Amway twice in the 80’s & 90’s. But myself in 5 other Co’s, honestly; I was Not driven or successful at all) Hubby also owned and ran a successful owner-build Company. There’s just Not enough time or space here to give you his Countless Business Experience and Knowledge; Very Smart guy. At 54, he went back to College and earned his MBA 10 years ago. He’s looked at More businesses, and opportunities than he could ever count. And ANY traditional business owner will tell you that it costs Thousands of dollars every month to keep it running. We personally know Many traditional business owners, and their stories of the costs (and headaches and endless hours) of running a business Would Totally Surprise you.
One of the Unique things about LiFe Leadership is that a person HAS to have a Desire to genuinely Help families and people gain paramount knowledge (about Finances, Relationships, Marriage, Parenting, Spiritual, Leadership, Personal and Professional growth, etc) that Isn’t taught in schools or Universities. If you want to Learn More so you can Earn More money (even in your present job), This is The BEST way to get All of that info and More-
and it’s Right there on your smart phone thru the LiFe App. It’s Extremely less expensive and So Much More Valuable than ANY College or University courses or degree- or even Any course that’s available out there. We’ve both been to Countless seminars over the years, and have paid A Lot More for each of those than we pay for our subscriptions that we access thru the LiFe App on our phones and other divices. It’s almost a joke how reasonable it is to run a successful business by using the subscriptions.
The Financial system is Broken, it’s stacked Against the individuals. LiFe’s Financial Fitness Program teaches WHY that is, and the HOW to beat the fiat money system. It is SO Much Better than Dave Ramsey’s program- Hands down! (Yes, we’ve both been thru it, and my husband Used to teach it at Church. It’s good, but LiFe’s Financial Fitness Program IS Better!)
There’s More to this LiFe thing… But I will share only⏬This⏬other part (and please note that your info in this article is Very outdated, as the Co. has Changed and Improved So Much over the years) as it is The BEST NEW Addition! Like AOL brought internet access to the Masses, LiFe Will go down in History for bringing Crypto Currency into fruition!
? If I could Give You a FREE App on your phone that would allow you an Instant 5% Discount at hundreds of thousands of businesses that you Already go to and spend your money -And at the same time, You get 10% back in FREE Crypto Currency… Would you be interested?
*And This is Just for being a customer (which is Totally FREE)… There’s Much MORE if you choose to help promote it!
So, I’m Wondering if Anyone frequents ANY of these locations (or services):
UBER, Chili’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Bed Bath & Beyond, ULTA, AMC Theaters, Steak & Shake, Staples, O’Charlies, Dominoes Pizza, Bonefish Grill, IHOP, Krispy Kreme, Carabas, Papa Johns, Kmart, Outback Steakhouse, Tijuana Flats, Lands End, ColdStone Creamery, Chipotle, Sears, TGI Friday’s, Express, Joann Fabrics, OldNavy, GameStop, Sephora, Gap, Banana Republic, Aire, JC Penny, American Eagle, Home Depot or Lowe’s?
Because These are JUST 35 of the 100,000 merchants who will be GIVING an Instant Discount of 5% off your bill- AND 10% Back in CryptoCurrency (in early 2019) to those that have Our FREE LiFe APP!
We can get you set up Now to take advantage of This FREE APP to receive these discounts!

Lorrie, you are making wild and false claims without providing evidence. For example you note, ” (Life is) So Much More Valuable than ANY College or University courses or degree ..” This is simply not true. We can measure the number of people with degrees and discover the salaries that they earned. This data is collected by payroll processing centers and the federal government.
Let’s not forget that “55.52% did not continue with the company after their first year.”
Life Leadership is a paramid scheme, and takes advantage of people with poor financial literacy skills while pretending to educate the people it scams. I’ve seen the material and the misleading promotional videos. Why not try and earn an honest living for a change? People of strong moral character provide useful information to the people they truly care about for free. They don’t try to profit off a loved one’s lack of critical thinking.
Thankfully, the content found within Life’s programs is abundant for free in various places on the Internet. There’s nothing unique about its content, except that it aims to entice you with false promises that it can’t deliver.
Osama Akhtar says
It’s not a pyramid scheme. If you keep throwing that word around, people will I longer believe it. A pyramid scheme is one in which the top make the money. This is performance based. It depends on your performance.

The “crypto” thing Lorrie describes is the latest “get you involved” grabber. First, I have numerous acquaintances, not the least of which is my own Mother, involved in Life Leadership. Suffice it to say that, to date and as currently structured, it’s not my “cup of tea” as is the case for most MLM’s I’ve analyzed over a multitude of years.
That said, the ‘crypto” aspect Lorrie describes is, in fact, intriguing. While I have no use and/or interest in promoting self-help products (agnostic; just my choice), the “Golden Goose” of crypto is to render it economically viable. I admittedly state I know just enough about this space to be dangerous, yet that’s more than most. What’s being touted at this point is total theory which, in and of itself isn’t bad. But the rubber hasn’t remotely met the road and, in fact, the curtains haven’t even been pulled.
If you were to drink the Kool-Aid as of today, you’d be joining a self-help promotion MLM. However, in appropriate deference to what they’re attempting here, while I personally believe there’s insufficient information to pull the trigger at the moment, this is one to watch. I hate clichés but if they truly succeed, even on a limited degree, at what they’ve set out to do, this could be monumental. To crack the crypto dysfunction and do it MLM fashion whereby the small player has a ground floor opportunity? You insert the adjective…
I’m not a Life Leadership member nor cheerleader. I am, however, an astute businessman with an eye towards the future and have a bad habit of liking to eat (well). This company has undergone a significant metamorphosis subsequent to the start of this thread and I’d simply state that anyone coming across this thread would be wise to at least monitor this company for the next 90 days. Future opportunities could well trump prior possibilities. .
Robert B. Winn says
I have been in Life Leadership for two years now and have no complaints about them. First of all, I was not looking at them as a get rich scheme. They claimed to have good information about getting out of debt, which I think they do. I bought and read their Financial Fitness book and thought it was good information, whereas, you thought it was garbage. I paid full price for the Financial Fitness package, $120.00, and paid the other twenty to be an active member of the company, so that I could sell the products and membership to others. I could have bought the Financial Fitness package on Amazon or Ebay for $30 put for sale there by some of the dis-satisfied costomers you speak for, or better yet, bought the Financial Fitness book by Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady for $3.00 plus shipping from these other companies. I did not know about these cheaper ways of getting the information they are selling when I bought the Financial Fitness package. I thought it was good information and would lead to financial security if a person just followed the counsel given in the book. As I read your objections to the information, you did not think it was exciting enough. I am a little different from most people because I have always worked at low paying jobs and have stayed out of debt, the only expenses I have being rent, food, clothing, etc., and I have always stayed within my income, not borrowing money. I did not invest in the programs that the company has for further information, but have bought some more books about finance and other subjects from them. What I should probably explain to you is how the financial compensation system works. I am not the kind of member they are looking for, but their system works for me. What they encourage people to do is to put together first a line of ten members , then another line of five, then they say you will be making a residual income. I did not get excited about it, as I do not have what you would call a sales personality and only talked to a relatively few people about LifeLeadership. Of the people I talked to, three joined the company. Although I only enlisted three people in two years time, I now have the line of ten under me because people above me in the company also put people under me, and as soon as I get another five will be making a residual income of a few hundred dollars every month. I do not talk to people about it unless I think they will stay with it. The way Chris Brady explained it, if two of those fifteen people are active in getting other people into the company, my income about doubles from what it would be if none are doing anything. If four people under me are active getting other people, I am making about a thousand a month or so. So the way I look at it, I would be foolish to sell my books on Ebay the way you advise and let my $140 investment in the company lapse just because you thought the books were garbage. I thought they were good books and had good information. But by doing practically nothing I am only five people away from getting money every month. So go ahead and try to talk me into quitting this company. I am probably one of your more difficult challenges, I think the people who are dissatisfied are people who had unrealistic expectations. I know there are people who are making millions from this, but the reason I joined was because I liked their books, so I am satisfied even if I never make any money from it. But the way I see it, now all I have to do is find another person who wants to join the company, and if I do nothing else, I have started the second line of five, which will fill up from people above me and get me started on an income every month even if I do nothing else. I think you are giving bad advice when you tell people to get out of this company.
Ben Maitlin says
Robert, the problem is that Life over-promises and under-delivers; and does so in a misleading fashion.

She wanted to come over and show me this app about cryptocurrency. I’m pretty sure it’s an app from this, as I know from someone else that she’s involved with this organization. (I heard from someone else.) Very strange, if you ask me,, to just call someone up that you’ve never called and want to come over to their house and show them an app! I’m really not in this MLM stuff. I’m working on my goals aggressively, and I don’t need this type of thing in my life to motivate me.

I think it’s spot on! There are many other issues with this company that are bothersome to me. For instance, the products are available on Amazon. That is a serious problem.
I have been a consultant for MLM for over 25 years and have never wanted to be a distributor because no company has ever made enough sense to me to join. I have been offered by many companies with everything from the company paying me a salary to build a downline, to giving me an existing downline. All with watered down dilute products that you and I don’t necessarily need. People only buy them to be qualified to get a check.
I have since found the only MLM that I would be a part of and have become a Distributor for the first time in my life. I specialize in helping others succeed.

I totally disagree with your review for several reasons and yes I’m a member of Life Leadership
1. The educational portion of Life is cheap compared to many of the programs out there.
2. I’ve learned so much and continue to learn more everyday.
3. Many of the products are unique and can’t be found elsewhere.
4. I’ve spent more in other companies and had less support.
5. I personally know several of the owners and have found them to be honorable honest people and I’m just starting out.
6. My mentor is nearly always available and when he’s not he always calls back.
7. I have found some real friends here.
My point is that this is what I’ve found to be the case in my experience With Life Leadership. These are some awesome people. I’ve been with the company first as a customer and now as a member for 2 years.
I realize I didn’t address much of what you wrote, but I didn’t feel I needed to. I just wanted readers to have a member’s prospective.

Not sure what your definition of crap products is. But all the books in the life inventory are too books for their field. You can find the same books at chapters, Barnes and Noble, etc. And most of these books if you had a success mentor they would probably recommend them. As for “training” for recruits the products are the training. The events, your mentor that sponsored you or someone higher in the ranks. There’s loads of training.
For the compensation plan. I think only 50% not making money is actually a pretty good statistic. That means 50% are making some money. Try going into any other business, or success field and have 50% making money. Do 50% of all highschool students that play football make the major leagues? Nope.
Do all medical students graduate and get a job? Nope
Does every sexual encounter produce a child? Nope
Most businesses close within 5 years. Most actors make pennies. It’s how success works. You actuay have to do work in order to make money. Which completely takes it being a pyramid off the table. It’s not get rich quick. It’s not something for nothing. It’s a business. You actually have to do work. Shocker!
Buford says
