ZarFund Review
PRODUCT NAME: ZarFund
Price: Free to initially sign up, $18 to keep your account
Overall Ranking: 0/100
Owners: Hannes Jordaan
Verdict: Scam
Our Recommendation: This is another blatant cash-gifting scam that will no doubt shut down soon. My real recommendation if you’re serious about making money online is for you to build your own income-yielding online business.
An Overview of ZarFund
**This review was written before it became glaringly obvious to me that ZarFund is a 100% scam. The overall ranking has been changed from 5/100 to 0/100.
I heard about ZarFund when I logged into one of the revenue sharing platforms I signed up for. I usually log in to programs I have signed up for in order to keep the reviews on this site as up to date as possible. I’m not quite sure if it was My 24 Hour Income or Traffic Powerline or some other RevShare platform, but ZarFund popped up as one of the ads I saw before I could head into the member area.
It is a weird coincidence that I had the exact same story with another platform I wrote a review on a couple of days ago, Leased Ad Space. ZarFund and Leased Ad Space are very much alike: Same BS, different name. They are both cash-gifting programs and the only notable difference between them is gifting happens at ZarFund with Bitcoins, while the gifting happens with cash at Leased Ad Space.
The ZarFund official website has an Alexa ranking of around 25,000 at the time of writing. This tells you the huge amount of traffic they have been able to garner to their program since their launch in August 2016. As usual, I make it my duty to do my homework and write a review when I see programs like this become so popular within a short time. It’s always nice for people who want to dig up information on a program to find an honest review before they get to invest their time and money in that program.
I am leaving the floor open for ZarFund members and non-members alike to argue with the information I have in this review and provide us with the most up to date information of how proceedings are carried out within ZarFund. Leave your thoughts and comments, whether nice or harsh, in the comments section below.
Let’s get started, shall we?
What is ZarFund?
ZarFund is a Multi Level marketing platform where members cash-gift each other with Bitcoins.
I personally feel this program is even worse than Leased Ad Space to be honest. At least, Leased Ad Space had the decency to mask their cash gifting behind the fact that you are indeed trading traffic. At ZarFund, you are blatantly trading Bitcoins for Bitcoins.
Their official definition is a typical example of how programs use semantics to mask their scam antics. This is a BS statement to make the platform look like some kind of charity…
ZARFUND is a donation exchange platform where members voluntarily give donations and receive donations on monthly.
Semantics could be a very dangerous thing sometimes.
About the Owner
ZarFund was created by Hannes Jordaan, an online entrepreneur living in South Africa. He is a real person and has been around the block for a couple of years. He has also been affiliated with a lot of internet marketing programs in the past.
Update: Hannes Jordaan is a scam, as you will soon find out. I’m looking forward to Hannes Jordaan seeing this and having the guts to contact me about it.
Who is it for?
Normally I would say their target market are people that have some interest in Bitcoins but I am almost certain that most of the people who are already in ZarFund or thinking of joining ZarFund have no real interest in Bitcoins. For this reason, it becomes obvious that their target audience is simply anyone in a hurry to make money online.
Small Talk for People New to Internet Marketing
ZarFund applies a Multi-Level Marketing business model and as such, it will be difficult for you to sustain a long-term income off this without further tools and training. You might break even after you invite your family and friends to join the program, but what happens after that? You will need to learn how to leverage the huge population online to get people to join your network.
How does ZarFund work?
**More information has come to light about how big of a scam this program is. Here is a section showing the experience of one of ZarFund’s members.
Before we hop into how it works, you might be wondering if you could really make money with this program. In fact, that might be all you want to know.
Well, the answer is Yes. You can indeed make money with ZarFund. Does this make it any less of a scam though? My answer is No. Drug dealers make money too, but does that make dealing drugs right?
Here is the short gist of how this program works:
Even though they let you create an account for free, ZarFund is not a free membership program. As soon as you create your account, the system starts clocking down from 2 days and your account will be deleted if you have not cash-gifted your referrer within that time frame.
Handing a gift over to your up-line is what qualifies you to be able to receive gifts in return from your downline. That is the only way you could possibly earn money using this program, as they offer zero affiliate products.
Wondering why I called this a fancy scam? Because this cash gifting is not carried out using actual hard currency, but they decided to spice things up a little bit in this program by doing the gifting with Bitcoins.
The Cost of Joining ZarFund
There are 6 different levels of giving and receiving “donations”:
**Conversions are made from Bitcoins to US Dollars
Level 1: You must pay this up within the first 2 days of creating your account to prevent it from being deleted. This costs 0.03 bitcoins per month which, at the time of writing, is approximately $18 per month.
Level 2: This level costs 0.05 bitcoins per month which, at the time of writing, is approximately $31 per month.
Level 3: This level costs 0.1 bitcoins per month which, at the time of writing, is approximately $62 per month.
Level 4: This level costs 0.2 bitcoins per month which, at the time of writing, is approximately $124 per month.
Level 5: This level costs 1 bitcoin per month which, at the time of writing, is approximately $616 per month.
Level 6: This level costs 2 bitcoins per month which, at the time of writing, is approximately $1,233 per month.
To go up to a higher level, you will have to first purchase all levels below it. For example, you have to purchase Level 1 before you can go up to Level 2 and you will have to pay for Level 1 and Level 2 before you can go up to Level 3. This means you would have to spend a total of 3.38 Bitcoins or $2,084 if you wanted to get up to Level 6 within your first month of joining.
Considering these gifts are monthly, it will cost even more to get up to Level 6 if you do not bump up within your first month.
The Compensation Structure
One thing you must know is: You can only earn up to the level you have purchased.
Let’s say you are in Level 1 for example. If one of the people you refer to join ZarFund decides to go up to Level 2, you will get the 0.03 Bitcoins he had to pay to enter Level 1 but he gifts the 0.05 Bitcoins required to enter Level 2 to the nearest Level 2 member in your up-line.
For you to obtain maximum commissions from this program, you will have to be a Level 6 member which will cost 3.38 Bitcoins or $2,084 to get to in your first month and 2 Bitcoins or $1,233 per month after.
That is what I feel you must know before you start thinking about your income potential with this platform. Check the video below for more on the technicalities of their compensation structure…
*I do NOT endorse this video. I do NOT endorse ZarFund. I am sharing this solely for educational purposes.
Pros
- There is a chance you could make money
- I find the idea of using Bitcoins somewhat fancy. But maybe it’s just me?
- They have a support ticket page
- The owner has a real identity
Cons
- Cash Gifting Scheme
- Transactions happen directly between referrer and referral
- For something so uncertain, it is ridiculously expensive
- Not in any way suitable for beginners to Internet Marketing
- There is no single product being sold
- There is no single service being offered
- It is an obvious Pyramid scheme
- It will not last long for sure!
Payment Forms
The only currency you can use to perform transactions on ZarFund is Bitcoin. They recommend you open up a Bitcoin wallet with either Blockchain or Coin Base.
ZarFund Support
They have a support page where you can create a support ticket to ask any questions or file complaints.
ZarFund is a Downright Scam!
Kimberly (www.misskimberlyjoy.com), an ex-member of ZarFund, took the liberty to share her experiences here on this website. Hover down to the comments to read what she has gone through with ZarFund.
Here are some of the screenshots she sent to me:
She was on Level 2 (Silver) by the way. If you still go ahead and sign up for this program even after seeing this, then it’s obvious you deliberately want to be scammed. How can you want to do business with an owner that scams you and then taunts you on top of it? In case you missed it, they did not allow her withdraw what she had earned and then they closed her account.
Please stay away from ZarFund, I’m begging you.
Closing Thoughts
Like Leased Ad Space, they have made an attempt to mask a cash gifting scheme. The fact that Bitcoins are directly traded between referrer and referral without interference from ZarFund makes it appear as if ZarFund is simply a free platform that offers people the opportunity to voluntarily donate Bitcoins to other people and receive some Bitcoins themselves in return.
Like with all similar schemes, it will all seem cool until there is no one found to recruit to join the scheme. When no one joins, the cash gifting stops and then it becomes inevitable that the system will crumble. Typically, the people closer to the top of the scheme than they are to the bottom would have made a decent amount of money while those closer to the bottom of the scheme still have not broken even. Know that if you join now, you will be at the bottom of this scheme!
Even you did join now, you will need to get referrals to make any money off this. Take a second and ask yourself how you plan to get these referrals. The fact is you are going to need proper training to know how to leverage a large audience already accessing the internet to be able to land referrals without having to pay even more than you are already paying to obtain traffic. I have had this proper training and in fact, if I did put a ZarFund referral link on this page and wrote a glaringly positive review about the program, I would probably land a few referrals to the program.
I would not do that though. I would be brushing aside all my ethics to promote a scam as blatant as ZarFund, regardless of how much I could make doing it. I will not be willing to invest $1000s in something so uncertain and I cannot advise people to do the same.
The decision is ultimately up to you though. If you are looking for something legit, check out my top recommendation.

Thank you for this article. After waking up from a nap today I realized that because I’m an Expat Wife (a traveler because of my husband’s career) in the States, I might be accused of money laundering. It’s like I’m using my hard-earned cash to buy and “donate” bitcoins. It was fun during my first two weeks because my referrals were getting a lot of referrals and I actually made 0.100 BTCs (which is about $61.19 USD) but I am not a citizen of the country I’m working in and when the US Government sees that I’m continuing to transfer funds to a website (Zarfund), they may take legal action against me which in turn would hurt my husband and I couldn’t bare that.
I only started with Zarfund because of the suggestion of my ClixSense sponsor. They were just looking out for me which is nice but I decided to deactivate my account. I submitted a ticket mentioning the following:
“Although Zarfund is a great opportunity for online money making, unfortunately I was advised to stop operations and shutdown my account because of the possibility of being accused for money laundering.
Please advise on how to move my referrals. I was asked to not even contact my referrals one by one and give them my upline’s referral link.
Please advise on how to withdraw the funds.
Please advise on how to deactivate my account.
Thank you.”
I will let you know what they say. I submitted the ticket about Sunday at lunch time. Let’s see how long they take to answer.

I appreciate you sharing all this, Kimberly. I never even thought about the legal implications of being involved with this sort of programs for some people. If you don’t mind me asking, where you given legal advice that cash gifting might be construed as money laundering or is it just a hunch you had?
I can see now why it might actually seem like money laundering but I want to know if you got legal advice about it.
I’m also looking to see if they will allow you withdraw the funds without any hassle. Please keep us up to date with how their response is.
Thanks again Kimberly.

It was more of a hunch and also my husband mentioned that I should be aware of anything where I’m sending money to people versus purchasing a service or product. Especially because I was sending money all the way to Nigeria and I don’t know anyone there except for the referrals.
Here was their response to my email:
“Hi Miss Kimberly Joy,
Ticket: https://zarfund.freshdesk.com/helpdesk/tickets/2796
Lol, you must be from the US, too much cool aid.
Please be advised, read the Terms and How it works to understand that you gave donations (go look up the meaning) there are now withdrawals of funds, this is not a bank and neither is it an investment.
You will be pleased to know your account is disabled.
I suggest you wise-up and read about the laws of your country, someone is obviously lying to you, but that is your choice.
Thank You for contacting ZarFund.
Regards
Zarfund Admin”
I have a screenshot of it as well because it’s in my inbox (so I can forward it to you too). I was shocked by their unprofessional response and there was no mention on how to withdraw my funds. Thankfully, I received funds from my referrals first so I made up everything without profit, though.

***Update*** I was shocked by their unprofessional response and there was no mention on how to withdraw my funds. Thankfully, I received funds from my referrals first so I made up everything without profit, though.
***Actually, they said this about withdrawing the funds “there are now withdrawals of funds, this is not a bank and neither is it an investment.”
So, what’s the point if this is not an investment?
Kimberly says
I just tried to login but the account is inactive. So even though I was trying to be nice, I wonder what they did with all of my referrals?
I did create a mini blog about Zarfund. The purpose was to promote it but I wanted to wait to see how well this program was. I wish I would’ve visited your site before getting involved but because it was an online friend that was helping me, I trusted them.
Here is my blog: http://www.mkjzarfund.blogspot.com
My next post is to link to this website if that’s okay.
Thank you.
Amedu says
For sure Kimberly. Their business model is obviously illegal and I thought people might be able to make money from ZarFund, but now I am convinced that they are downright fraudsters. They will probably move your referrals to the next person in your upline.
If you have the direct contact details of your referrals and you feel like make them aware of this, I suggest you let them know and ask them to leave as calmly as possible. They might have given you a hard time about making withdrawals because they knew you had already made a decision to leave ZarFund.
Reading how unprofessional the email they sent you is, I am 100% convinced this is a fraud. If in fact people cannot withdraw funds, then it’s obvious you stand no chance of making money unless you are at the highest level.
I am very sorry about your experience with these scams. If you could forward me the screenshots of your correspondence with them so I can post in this review, that would be great. At least, we get to save potential new members from getting involved with these criminals. My email is [email protected].
Thank you Kimberly for making an effort to help others by sharing your experiences here. Cheers 🙂

Oh wow! It was the creator himself that sent me the email: Hannes Jordaan! I have screenshots of the help desk ticket that I’m still active on.

Thank you for your support and I will send the screenshots now.

Hello there ..
First of all I am not defending ZarFund .. I am not even a member but I am thinking to join ..
First there is no withdraw .. !! all donations you send / receive through your bitcoin wallet
depending on which level you are in and how many referrals you got .. do you follow me .. !!
Second – Yes I know some day sooner or later this system will fall when new members
stop to join means new donations stop to come from down to up levels .. but in the mean time
yes you can make money & take the chance while the system is up .. just my opinion
Amedu says
Hello Hani,
First of all, thank you for reading this review. I mentioned in the review that people could still make money with ZarFund, despite its legitimacy or lack of it. I felt this way, and still feel this way about most cash-gifting schemes, until Kimberly came forward with her experience.
I am well aware that you can’t withdraw since transactions are made using BitCoins. In Kimberly’s case however, they shut her account down and did not fund her BitCoin wallet with the amount she was owed. I know this story might not be typical with most people but if an owner could do this to some members, I certainly would think twice about doing business with them.
My job here is to provide information on programs. Sometimes, like with ZarFund after Kimberly’s experience was shared here, I beg people not to join some of these programs. However, the call is still yours and yours only to make.
I appreciate your opinion though and thanks once again for reading.

Sorry “Rosckid”, I do not accept people posting their affiliate links on my site.
I find it weird that you came to my ZarFund review to promote CrowdRising when in fact I have already written a review on that program. It is just another scam like ZarFund in case you were still wondering.
I wish you all the best with CrowdRising but do not try and suck readers who are trying to inquire about one scam into another scam.

Dear Kimberly, kindly revert to the person who has access to your blockchain account as i assume you ought to have to have a good amout of bitcoins. Zarfund only serves as a mirror for how much bit you have made that why they said there are no witdrawals. Hani was right. the system is not sustainable but your bitcoins are not stolen.
